Flash can do more. It has more font options, has a consistent appearance in supported browsers and extensive 3D capabilities. The downside is that it’s not compatible with all browsers including apple products such as iPhones and iPads. You also have to purchase the software and know how to use it in order to update the content of the animation.
Best use of Flash is for; video and audio players, complex animation, 3D and complex multimedia.
Best use of jQuery is for; slide shows, form validation, dropdown menus, tabbed panels, pop-ups and tool tips, expandable/collapsible elements.
At Isatrin we predominantly work with jQuery. A popular product is our Banner Slideshow. This is usually inserted into the home page of a website and displays a slideshow of different images/slides. The slide can have text added (great for search engines) and can be linked to another part of the website enticing the viewer further in. The administrator of the website can upload new content themselves and disable slides with the click of a button.
If you want to have a chat about your existing or potential website, feel free to make an appointment with Lisa.
If you find a website on your apple product that has a blank area because the Flash animation isn’t showing, then please forward it to my email address as a referral.
